How to get my Django 1.3 app to work when moving from localhost:8000 to 127.0.0.1:8000
I am developing a Django 1.3 app that works when I run the server on my local machine at localhost:8000. Now I am trying to move the development version to the web server on my local machine at 127.0.0.1:8000. It looks like the sockets are not being bound. What is causing this?
My socket connections look like this when I run the server locally:

But when I run it on the web server, I get:

and the server is running on port 8000. I’m using freebsd and the command I use to start the web server is:
python -m SimpleHTTPServer 8000

I found the problem, and it was the QUOTATION MARK after the 1.0. Now that I know the problem, how do I fix it? There must be some escaping or something but I don’t know what.

The viceroy’s palace — a majestic house at the center of the colonial city — has long been home to a social club and an art gallery. The building was taken over by the city’s Historical Preservation Commission as a monument to San Jose’s past and was designated as a historic landmark in 1966.
In September, the commission decided to sell the four-story house and two outbuildings to reduce budget deficits at the agency. The agency plans to use the proceeds to help balance its budget through the year ending in June 2018, said Tim Hibbard, the commission’s senior planner.
Once the commission completes the sale, “the building will come down completely and it will be converted into condominiums,” he said.
Hibbard said other historic properties in San Jose, including the Palace at Hamilton, will also be added to the city’s inventory of historic landmarks. But he said it will be difficult to find sites that are aesthetically pleasing.
“There are few buildings left that are as beautiful as the Palace of the Viceroy,” he said.
If the commission sells the houses on either side of the main palace — the Bishops Estate and the former Bishops residence — the owners will have to create a new street by connecting the side buildings to the street in front of the palace, Hibbard said.
Under the proposed condominium conversion, the commission expects to retain ownership of the cultural and historical value of the buildings, Hibbard said.
